Principles into practice case studies
6 Feb 2012Following the endorsement of the National Principles for Public Engagement in Wales last year, Participation Cymru ran a series of Principles into Practice seminars to publicise them. These events featured case studies from organisations who have engaged with individiuals and communities and were looking to share good practice with others.
Janet Radford of AVOW made two presentations in North Wales that looked at the ‘Helping us to help you’ event, which is an annual event for disabled people and their carers that is hosted in partnership by Wrexham County Borough Council and AVOW.
Catherine Gadd and Grace Halfpenny of Neath-Port Talbot County Borough Council, Shajan Mohammed, Chairman of Neath Port Talbot Tigers, and Clive Owen from Neath Port Talbot Older Person's Council looked at the work that they did together on the ‘Your Say in Your Community Event’, which was used to engage with Black and Minority Ethnic groups.
Aneurin Bevan Health Board’s session on patient and public involvement in South East Wales is part of a collection of good practice extracts that NLIAH are putting together. We will send further details of these as soon as they are available.
